Details of Incident

British Transport Police detectives are investigating the rape of a 16 year girl at Newark Northgate Station in December 1987.

 

It was a Friday night in December 1987, the victim had to disembark at Newark Station & faced a 2 hour delay due to snow fall further north. A large group of young men joined her on the platform and invited her with them to the pub while they waited for the next train. She recalls being bought drinks in the Sawmill Pub on Beacon Hill Road before being carried back to the train station and along the platform in full view of other passengers before being taken out of sight by at least 4 males and raped.  

 

The group of young men are described as British Armed Forces personnel and were travelling north.
