Sexual Assault - Great Lines Heritage Park
Police are investigating a Sexual Assault at Great Lines Heritage Park, Gillingham, on Tuesday 20th August 2024
Details of Incident
It is reported a woman was threatened by a man who also physically assaulted her in the Great Lines Heritage Park. The incident happened at around 4pm on Tuesday 20th August 2024, after the Victim had been walking along a footpath from Chatham and in the direction of Medway Hospital.
She stopped to sit on a bench, where the suspect sat next to her and started talking to her. It is alleged he made verbal threats towards the woman who was pushed to the floor during attempts to sexually assault her. The suspect left the scene after two witnesses approached and fled towards an area of Chatham High Street.
An investigation is being led by Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate and officers have released an e-fit image of the suspect. He was white, around 21 years old, with black hair and slim to medium build. He was wearing what was described as a grey or blue tank top and grey or blue shorts which fell below the knee. He had a silver chain around his neck and a black bag across the shoulder.
