Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) is now leading an investigation into an arson which took place at Peacehaven Mosque in Sussex on 4 October.

This relates to an incident where a fire was ignited outside the mosque in Phyllis Avenue.

Details of Incident

Emergency services were called to the building in Phyllis Avenue around 9:50pm on Saturday 4th October.

Emergency crews from Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service promptly attended the scene and were able to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, those inside at the time were not injured, but significant damage was caused to the mosque and a nearby vehicle.
