"His humour, strength, and endless love will forever remain in our hearts" - tribute after man’s death

Details of Incident

The family of a man who was fatally shot have paid tribute to their "beloved".

Twenty-four-year-old Coel Tainton was found dead at a property in Ryeland Gardens, The Meadows, Nottingham, shortly after 5.30am on Saturday (28 February).

His family has today paid tribute to their "beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend to so many".

They added:

“Coel was loving, caring, and fiercely protective of those he held close. His heart was big, generous, and full of kindness.

“He had a precious soul and a contagious laugh that could light up any room and touch everyone around him.

“He brought joy, warmth, and comfort to our lives in countless ways. His humour, strength, and endless love will forever remain in our hearts.

“Though words cannot express the depth of our loss, we know his love surrounds us still. He will be so sadly missed, deeply cherished, and loved forever.”

A murder investigation was launched following the discovery, and Jack Preston, 34, was charged with murder, assault by beating of an emergency worker and a public order offence on Tuesday evening (3 March).

Preston, of Ryeland Gardens, was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court 4 March.
