Murder Investigation launched in Wellingborough, Northants
Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Wellingborough this afternoon (Sunday, May 3).
Emergency services were called to Birchfield Road, at around 3.05pm to reports a man had been stabbed.
Sadly, and despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a man, believed to be Darren King, aged 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men, both aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of murder a short time later and remain in custody this evening.
A police presence is expected to remain in place in Birchfield Road tomorrow, as the investigation into this serious incident continues.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Cheryl Thompson, of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident which has seen a man lose his life and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
“This is a fast-paced investigation, with two men arrested quickly and taken into custody. At this stage, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
“Although we have made two arrests, I would still appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information who has not yet come forward, to please do so.”
