Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire Investigation Following a Report of Children Feeling Unwell Attending a Summer Camp at Stathern Lodge


‘A horrific, complex and emotional investigation’

Ruben has previously pleaded guilty to 17 offences. These offences are eight counts of wilful ill treatment of a child in relation to eight separate victims, one count of acquiring or possession of dutiable goods by fraudulent intent, three counts of possession of a class C drug, three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, one count of assault by penetration of a boy under 13 and one count of sexual assault of a boy under 13.


Today, at a hearing at Leicester Crown Court, the prosecution accepted a not guilty plea which was previously made by Jon Ruben to a second charge of assault by penetration of a boy under 13. This plea was accepted following full discussion and consultation with the victim’s family and with the investigation team.
Ruben has been remanded into custody and will be sentenced for the 17 offences he has pleaded guilty to on Friday 6 February 2026.
