We've arrested three people after a man was stabbed on a bus in Birmingham city centre.

It's believed he had been chased onto a bus on Corporation Street by a group who started to attack him.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains today.

CCTV operators traced a number of suspects, who were arrested nearby. A knife was also recovered.

The suspects are aged 21, 17 and 16. Two are in our custody, while the 17-year-old is under arrest in hospital.

Jenny Birch, from our Major Crime Unit, said: "This was a really serious attack, which has left a man with a number of really serious injuries which are likely to be life changing".

"We believe the incident started in the area of New Street station and then has ended on a bus which was parked up on Corporation Street".

"We're in the process of reviewing CCTV from the area and speaking to witnesses, but we really need to hear from anyone who saw any part of the incident".

We've set up a dedicated web page where you can submit photos, video and other material directly to our investigators
