We are appealing for information following the death of a 19-year-old man in Acocks Green.

We were called by ambulance colleagues to reports of a stabbing at an address on Olton Boulevard East, shortly before 2pm yesterday (13th January).

Chris Ikouara, aged 19, was found seriously injured and despite the best efforts of paramedics, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are working at pace to investigate the circumstances around Chris’s death, while a scene remains in place at the address.

Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, from our Homicide team, said: “Specialist officers have been working through the night and following several lines of enquiry as we work to find who was involved.

“Our thoughts remain with Chris’s family, friends, and loved ones and we are continuing to offer them our full support.

“We are now appealing for the public’s help with our investigation, and I would urge anyone with information – no matter how small it may seem – to please contact us immediately.

“We understand the concern this has caused in the local community, and local officers are there for you, carrying out reassurance patrols and ready to listen to any concerns you may have.”
