Fatal Shooting Leicester Street Wolverhampton

The second man injured in a fatal shooting in Wolverhampton on Friday has sadly died

The second man injured in a fatal shooting in Wolverhampton on Friday has sadly died

Syed Zain Ali, aged 32, passed away in hospital surrounded by family

It comes after the murder of 28-year-old Duaine Mills and our continuing appeal to trace Mohammed Maneer Khan.

We want to speak to the 38-year-old, known as Manny, after we were called to Leicester Street in Whitmore Reans just after 3.10am on Friday to reports of shots being fired.

Duaine was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, and Syed was taken to hospital but despite the efforts of medical staff has died.

Detective Inspector Joe Davenport, from our Homicide team, said: “Tragically a second life has been lost and we are continuing to work 24/7 to establish the full circumstances and to trace the person responsible.

“We are continuing to urge the public to assist in our on-going efforts to bring Khan into custody.

“The families of both these men, Duaine and Syed, are devastated and we remain absolutely committed to getting them the justice their loved ones deserve."

Our officers are also continuing with regular patrols in the area, so our communities will still be noticing an increased policing presence.

We would urge anyone who sees Khan to not approach him but to call 999 immediately. There is also a specially created portal where people can leave CCTV, images and information to help with enquiries. The portal is here https://mipp.police.uk/operation/20HQ25C16-PO1
