Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man who was seriously injured in an assault in Keighley sadly died in hospital.
Suhail Choudry, who was 35, passed away in hospital yesterday (11 February) after he was found with serious head injuries in Flasby Street in the early hours of Sunday 8 February.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident, which is now being investigated by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, as a targeted attack.
A man aged 27 arrested on suspicion attempt murder yesterday has now been rearrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time.
A man aged 30 who was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of attempt murder has been bailed pending further enquiries. Another man aged 33 who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Matt Holdsworth of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said:
“We have a team of detectives who are carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to the Incident, which has sadly now resulted in the death of a man.
“Several scenes remain in place in Keighley today as our investigation into what took place continues, with local officers continuing to provide reassurance through increased patrols.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this serious violence on the streets on Keighley or have any information in relation to the wider circumstances to come forward.
