Investigation into the death of Mr Ajani Campbell
On 03/08/2026 a skeleton was discovered by bridge inspectors, underneath a railway bridge, on the M67 motorway. There was nothing with the skeleton to provide an identification.
Details of Incident
Following the discovery of the skeleton a forensic examination of a bone was completed and DNA obtained. This identified the skeleton as being 41-year-old Ajani Campbell born 09/04/1985.
Enquiries showed that Ajani was a missing from home, from his mother’s address in Preston. Ajani had left the address on Stocks Road, Preston on 24/01/2026. His mother reported him as missing on 25/01/2026.
Enquiries by Lancashire Police traced Ajani to boarding a train in Preston on 24/01/26 and travelling to Manchester Piccadilly. The last sighting of Ajani was on CCTV located on Deansgate, Manchester at 01:48hrs on 25/01/2026.
Ajani’s skeleton was discovered on the night of 03/08/2026.
