City of London Police are investigating Sim Swap* fraud from May 2024 to August 2025. We have information which suggests you may have been victim of SIM swap linked to your mobile phone service provider during this period.

*SIM Swapping is a form of identity theft. It involves fraudulently transferring a victim's phone number to a new SIM card / eSIM. Examples of how this attack is carried out are not limited but may include receiving cold calls from persons purporting to be a service provider representative who use social engineering techniques to obtain access to a 'One-Time Passcode' sent to your device via SMS, loss of service for a period of time (i.e. cellular reception) and/or third-party fraud i.e. unauthorised access to email accounts, banking or shopping applications.
