APPEAL FOR INFORMATION
Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) are investigating a number of incidents in the Surrey area.
Appeal for information
At 8.30am on Friday (21/11), Surrey Police and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a suspected arson involving a 5G mast on Bittams Lane, Ottershaw. The fire was extinguished by the fire service, and there were no reported injuries.
Due to information which has come to light during initial enquiries specialist counter terrorism officers are now leading the investigation, working closely with Surrey Police. Work is ongoing to establish the exact circumstances.
CTPSE detectives are also investigating a number of other incidents which may be linked in the Ottershaw and Chertsey areas.
North Surrey Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Aimee Ramm said: “Over the past month, we’ve seen a number of suspected arson attacks in the Ottershaw area which has understandably caused concern in our local community. Our investigative team has been working hard to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fires and following the two fires last week, we now have intelligence to suggest two or more may be linked.
Anyone with any information in relation to any of the incidents, or who has any doorbell or CCTV footage which may assist officers, is asked to submit their information below.
