Murder Maris ILE in King's Lynn 20th November 2024

Police in King's Lynn are appealing for the community's assistance to locate Maris ILE who was last seen on 20th November 2024 in the vicinity of Highgate, King's Lynn.


Details of Incident

Police in Kings Lynn have launched an investigation into the disappearance of 54-year-old Maris Ile, a Latvian national who was living in King’s Lynn in the vicinity of Highgate. The last positive sighting of Maris was on the 20th November 2024. He was reported missing on 23 November 2024.

 

Officers have been following numerous enquiries and gathering evidence that has led them to believe Maris has come to harm. Therefore they have taken the unusual step of launching a murder investigation, despite not having found a body. The investigation is being undertaken by the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Major Investigation Team based at the Norfolk Police Headquarters at Wymondham working with local officers from the Kings Lynn area and supported by various specialists.

 

Four men and a woman were arrested at addresses in King's Lynn, Norwich and Peterborough on Tuesday, 11th March 2025 on suspicion of murder and were questioned by police. Multiple addresses and vehicles were searched.

 

The investigating team are following lines of enquiry as they are identified. The community in the vicinity of Highgate will see an increased police presence with officers conducting house to house enquiries, speaking to witnesses and carrying out the forensic examination and searching of various outdoor locations and properties.

 

There will also be a raised police presence in the vicinity of the North Lynn allotments. Anyone who saw suspicious or unusual activity at the allotments between the 20th November 2024 and the 23rd November 2024 are asked to contact the investigation team using any of the methods in the Contact Information section.
