Northamptonshire Police Murder Investigation - Burton Latimer


Murder Investigation launched in Burton Latimer

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was discovered in a property in Burton Latimer.

Police officers were called to the property in High Street, on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 2, after receiving a concern for welfare call.

On arrival, officers discovered the body of a man in his 50s who is believed to have died a number of days before he was found.

A forensic postmortem examination took place on Thursday, September 3, at Leicester Royal Infirmary, following which a murder investigation was launched.

Detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit are leading the investigation.

Detective Inspector Cheryl Thompson, said: “We’re in the early stages of establishing how the gentleman died and I would appeal for anyone in the High Street area of Burton Latimer and who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the last week to please contact us as a matter of emergency.”
