Appeal for information following the death of Adam Lucas in Leamington

Around 7.45am on Wednesday (15 April) 2026, we were called to Victoria Park in Leamington Spa after a member of the public saw a body in the river.

Along with paramedics, we attended but the man – Adam Lucas – had sadly died. A subsequent post-mortem found the 51-year-old had died of injuries consistent with being assaulted.

Adam is described as being a white male, slim build with short dark coloured hair, and sporting a greying beard and moustache.

Adam was wearing a white Nike Air Jordan T-shirt, a black jacket and snood around his neck with dark and black and white Nike trainers.

We’ve started a murder investigation in relation to Adam’s death and are now seeking support from members of the public to try and work out where he went and what he did in the hours before he died.

Can you help with any of the following?

1) Did you see anything that might help us understand how Adam died?

2) Do you have any information about Adam’s movements between 11pm on Tuesday (14 April) and 7.45am on Wednesday (15 April) or do you know anyone he might have spoken to during those times?

3) Do you know why Adam might have been assaulted?

Any information, no matter how small, could prove crucial to establishing what has happened to Adam and working out how he died.
