Report of firearms discharge at Beaumont Terrace, Newcastle at 0430hrs Monday 16th December 2024.

At 4.30am Monday 16th December 2024 we received a report of a disturbance on Beaumont Terrace in the Westerhope area of Newcastle.

It was reported that a suspected firearm had been discharged at a property, causing damage to a window and wall. The offender then made off from the scene. 

Emergency services attended and no-one was reported to have been injured. We believe this to be an isolated incident and a full investigation is under way.

Officers remain at the scene to carry out enquiries and offer reassurance to residents. A section of Beaumont Terrace is currently closed to traffic to allow for enquiries to be carried out.
