Murder of Michael McDermott

The murder of Michael Kenneth McDermott on the 9th November 1994 at a family member's house on Ashville Terrace, Moston.


Details of Incident

Approximately 2230hrs on Wednesday 9th November 1994 Michael McDermott was at a family member’s address on Ashville Terrace, Monton, Greater Manchester.

 

Three or four males have burst through the front door of the property armed with baseball bats and knives. They have attacked Michael as he lay on the sofa in the living room at the address. As a result of this assault Michael suffered several injuries including stab wounds.

 

The offenders wore dark clothing and dark masks. Following the attack, they left the address via the front door and ran across the road to a ginnel and onto Oakville Terrace to a waiting vehicle which then drove them from the scene.

 

It has now been 31 years since the murder and the focus of this appeal are to members from that community at that time who have witnessed or know information about what happened. There may be persons out there who did not feel comfortable sharing information at the time who may now be willing to provide details of what they know.
