Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of Sam Rimmer in Toxteth on Tuesday, 16th August.
Officers were called to Lavrock Bank in Toxteth at 11.40pm to reports that a man had been shot. When they arrived they found a seriously injured man, now identified as Sam Rimmer, with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Officers performed CPR at the scene until the ambulance arrived and he was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short while later.
It is believed there were at least two offenders, both in dark clothing, who were seen driving away from the scene on electric bikes.
An investigation is underway and crime scene investigators are carrying out forensic examinations. Officers are also completing house-to-house inquiries and will be examining CCTV footage in a bid to identify the offenders and establish the circumstances.
