Murder Investigation Launched

On Thursday 4th April 2024 at around 5.50pm human remains were discovered wrapped in plastic on Kersal Dale, near to Radford Street, Salford.


Details of Incident

At approximately 5.50pm on Thursday 4th April 2024 Police were called to reports of an unknown item wrapped in plastic having been found by a member of the public on Kersal Dale near to Radford Street, Salford.
A pathologist and detectives from Salford attended the scene and confirmed that the item found was in fact human remains.
At this time, the remains have not been identified, but it has been confirmed that it would not be possible for the victim to have survived. Therefore, a murder investigation has now been launched.
Due to the nature of the location – a secluded large woodland area – an extensive scene has been put in place while we continue our enquiries and establish the full circumstances that led to this discovery.
