MURDER OF CRAIG BARKER – CLEVELAND POLICE

Craig Barker, 47, also known as Craig Slater, of Cleatlam Close died following an assault at the weekend. Officers are appealing for any information regarding this incident.


Details of Incident

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an assault in Stockton on 22nd July 2018.

Craig Barker, 47, also known as Craig Slater, of Cleatlam Close was assaulted at his home in the early hours of Sunday 22nd July and died on the morning of Tuesday 24th July at James Cook University Hospital. The assault took place the day before Mr Barker’s birthday.

Mr Barker’s injuries are consistent with a sharp edged weapon.

During the incident, the family’s dog Leo was also attacked, suffering fatal injuries.

Police are appealing for any further information regarding this incident.

Police would also like to trace the occupants of a silver C-Class Mercedes which was seen in the Cleatlam Close area before and after the incident on Sunday 22nd July.  This vehicle was found abandoned in Calf Fallow Lane in Norton on the morning of Sunday 22nd July and is being forensically examined.
