Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information following the murder of John RIMMER who was assaulted in Rochdale on Weds 4th September 2019


Details of Incident

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Rochdale
The man had been taken to hospital around 01:30am on Thursday 5 September 2019, with severe injuries to his head and face, it is beleived he had been assaulted the previous evening by persons unknown.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services staff, he sadly died the following day (Friday 6 September 2019).  
He has been identified as 54-year-old John RIMMER from Rochdale.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin, of GMP Major Investigation Team is appealing to the public for information. Enquiries are continuing and we have a dedicated team of officers working hard to piece together the full circumstances of this incident. I urge anyone who may have information, no matter how big or small, to please contact police.
