Staffordshire Police are appealing for information following a fire at a derelict nightclub in Hanley in the early hours of  Tuesday 12th March in which a man has sadly died. 

Police have started to search a derelict nightclub that was on fire on Brockley Square, off Trinity Street Hanley.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire. During a search of the building by Forensics officers and a specialist search and rescue team sadly a body was recovered and has since been identified as Jamie Parker.

A 63-year-old man, of no fixed address, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life, has been released with no further action.

We are particularly keen to hear from any taxi drivers that may have been in the area in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
